Damo, how do you define average?
I suspect that the differences of opinion on Tansey originate in what people define as average. For me average is a player who is capable of filling gaps in the squad without ever making a position their own, someone who does not gain representative honours, and only ever plays because there isn't a serious alternative in the juniors when senior players are injured. To me Tansey is a dictionary definition of "average", and Kirke of the last 12/18 months would be as well.

Average is someone who doesn't play the sport to a professional level but is the cream of the crop in the pub leagues. In all I think your right in your definition and we can agree to disagree (or whatever way it is) on this one! |
