Don’t agree with some of the comments about Partington and think he would be a very astute signing. He is only 25 is tough and uncompromising and can play long minutes. Bullock is 31 is often injured and plays in short stints. The back row badly needs stiffening up and, at last, we would have competition for places. I remember Walmsley saying a few years ago Partington is the type of player you can build your pack round.
I think I am in the minority about Dwyer too. As a former Academy player, his contribution to the salary cap would be at a minimum and he can still make an impact despite his limitations while Walker will probably play long minutes anyway.
Assuming Vaughan, Musgrove and Tai go back to Australia next year we’ll have 3 quota places available. Fitzgibbon may also go back but I’m not sure when his deal expires. Be interesting to see who we’re after. Definitely need at least a couple of props and a back rower to add to Byrne coming in.
