What a performance. The kid is 19!! A performance like that from a 19 year old away at Wigan is so exciting and encouraging for us fans. He was superb.



I said half tongue in cheek after the game that he reminded of Paul Gallen. I know it's a daft comparison in a way but I meant it in terms of the way he plays the game. Rough, tough,no nonsense and can also play a bit if needs be. He was got the most potential out of any kid at Saints.

Percival, Swift, Jones, Thompson, Richards, Savelio all with the potential to do it all in this game, with Hewitt, Charnock and a few others looking good to step up soon ...

They need to be taking their chances whilst they can as when Amor is back they will struggle to get in the side, so they need to make an impression so when it comes time for Laffranchi to step down they can be real contenders for a starting 17 berth.

Thompson is the pick of the kids. Said it a few months ago and no one believed me.

To be fair, its not surprise - we were all saying how good he was in his first handful of matches a year ago. The defeat away to Broncos last year, he was the standout player. The few matches that followed. I think he picked up an injury following his few appearences, otherwise he'd have played a similar amount to Walmsley last year.

He has heart and commitment, if he adds that to the potential ability he had then he can go very very far in the game. I said to a mate on the way home last night that I don't think jammer ever put in such a good performance at that stage of his career against a good physical pack.



I like the look of the young forwards we have brought through. Thompson, Savelio, Richards and greenwood could be the cornerstone of the pack for years to come

How long is Thompsons contact? Whatever it is, extend it.

It has indeed. Percival, Richards and Thompson signed up until 2018.
